Summer Loves

Reasons for my summer loving:
  • The sun. Obviously. Even though it has barely shown it's summery face this week.
  • BBQs with friends and BBQs with my family. Just BBQs in general.
  • Camping. Not that I've had a camping expedition this summer or am a hardcore camper, but it always feels like a summery thing to do and that's always a good thing.
  • Quiet time outside in the warmth of the sun and also in new places while I'm on holiday. Somehow I just really get a new and different feel for and awe for God's creation in the summer and also a glimpse of the variety and vastness of it when I'm away from home in new places.
  • Summer fashion. This summer it's all about the sailor stripes and pretty florals. Love. It.
  • Summer make-up. It's so light and breezy.
  • Staying outside until the early hours of the morning and it not being cold. Well not too cold anyway.
  • Sun cream.
  • Bonfires with s'mores.
  • Summer trips. Short day-long trips to lakes or mountains and far week-long trips to places like Spain and Italy.
  • Coming home from trips to my family. Because I love my family a lot. Actually I love them to absolute little bitty pieces. They are the best. All I can do is rave about them because I adore them and miss them heaps when I'm away. Enough raving. For now.
  • Spending lots of time with the best friends a girl could ask for. Because I love them too. A lot. We have a lot of fun on our summer adventures.
  • New Wine. Even though I'm not there this year. Boo.
  • Beaches and oceans. Although it has to be said that I would always choose a pool over a beach any day. But beaches are summery and that's good.
  • Learning to drive. Slowly but surely (I hope).
  • Tans.
  • Sitting in cute little cafes in town with friends for hours just chatting, catching up and people-watching. And knowing you can sit there for as long as you want because it's summer and that means no hurrying.
  • Iced Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks. I love. Mmmmm so good.
  • Reading good books. In the sun.
  • Skyping with special people. Not that that's a summer-specific event but I have been doing it a lot this summer.
  • Eating ice-cream from one of the millions of ice-cream shops in my town.
  • Watching summer movies at the cinema.
  • Having the time to do anything you want. Or nothing at all. But you have that option because it's summer.
So those are just a few reasons for my summer loving. Obviously there are lots more because summer is awesome, but this is enough for now.

With summer love,
Me
